We will leave Marrakech early in the direction of the High Atlas. Our first stop will be at the port of Tizi Aït Barka where we can have a mint tea enjoying the view of the mountain and the characteristic adobe houses of the area.


Next we will cross the port of Tizi N'tichka at 2,260 meters above sea level. This mountain pass is the highest in North Africa and offers a magnificent panorama over the winding roads that wind between the peaks of the High Atlas.


Later we will stop at the famous Ksar Ait Ben Haddou. This fortified city, one of the best preserved in Morocco, is declared a World Heritage Site by Unesco and is known for having been the filming location for films such as Lawrence of Arabia, Gladiator or Babel.


We will eat at a local restaurant and continue to Ouarzazate where we can take the opportunity to visit the Kasbah Taourirt or the film studios.


At the end of the afternoon we will arrive at Agdz, a small agricultural town on the banks of the Draa River. We will be able to enjoy the contrast in its landscapes between the ocher lands and the green vegetation with the special light of the sunset.

AGDZ - TAMEGROUTE - M'HAMID - ERG CHIGAGA (approx. 190 km + 60 km of track - 5h)


Breakfast at the hotel. We will follow a charming road through sandy and increasingly arid landscapes until we reach Tamegroute, a craft center known for its green pottery typical of the area and its famous Koranic library, one of the most important in Morocco and which still preserves valuable manuscripts. such as a Koran on gazelle skin from the 11th century.


After this cultural stop, we will continue to M'hamid El Ghizlane, the last town before the desert that was for a long time a commercial stage for nomadic caravans.


After lunch we will take a track to enter the desert and reach Erg Chigaga, the highest dune in this part of the desert. Upon our arrival at the bivouac we will take a ride on a dromedary and we will have the opportunity to practice sandboarding, go for a quad ride or simply climb the fine sand of the dunes barefoot to contemplate the magical spectacle of the sunset.


We will have dinner in the bivouac and sit around the fire to enjoy live traditional nomadic music.


ERG CHIGAGA - LAKE IRIKI - FOUM ZGUID - TAZNAKHT- MARRAKECH (approx. 60 km track + 315 km - 7h)


Early risers can enjoy the sunrise and see how the sun's rays light up the immense sea of sand.

After breakfast in the bivouac we will return to civilization crossing the immense Lake Iriki, now dry. Following the horizon line we will surely be able to observe some mirage.


We will cross the town of Foum Zguid and continue to Taznakht, a small town that produces Berber rugs where we will stop for lunch. We will arrive in Marrakech in the evening.
